Edirneli çiftçi Barbaros, arkadaşı Begonia’nın yardımıyla onarıcı tarım ile
tanışır; fakat birçok çiftçi gibi “Bunların hepsi palavra.” diyerek
bildiğini yapmaya devam eder. Zamanla Begonia’nin ısrarlarına yenik düşen
Barbaros, onarıcı tarım yapan çiftçi Tolga Havsa’nın çiftliğini ziyaret
etmeye ikna olur. Bu ziyaretten sonra işlerin rengi değişir. Barbaros, daha
fazla örnek görmek için yollara düşer. Bu yeni sistemleri uygulayan ve
araştıran kişilerle görüşmeler yapar; ürünlerini, topraklarını ve
çiftliklerini gözlemler.
Barbaros, a farmer from Edirne Turkey, is introduced to regenerative
agriculture with the help of his friend Begonia. Skeptical about no till
farming, Barbaros sets on a journey together with Begonia to interview and
learn from a handful of farmers who apply alternative agricultures methods
in Turkey based in soil health.
"Awakening of the Soil" narrates the journey of Barbaros, a farmer from
Edirne, as he steps into the world of regenerative agriculture. Initially
skeptical about these new farming methods, Barbaros begins to change his
mind due to the persistent persuasion of his friend, Begonia. He visits the
farm of Tolga Havsa to witness the effects of regenerative farming firsthand,
and this experience completely alters his perspective. Barbaros embarks on a
journey across Turkey to visit various farms in order to better understand
these new and sustainable farming methods. During this journey, he meets
with farmers who apply and research regenerative farming methods, observing
their crops, soils, and farms, gaining inspiration to transform his own
farming practices.
