Belgesel, Türkiye'de toplumcu çağdaş tiyatronun temellerini atarak, Türk
tiyatrosunun ilk defa Avrupa'ya açılmasını sağlamış, usta tiyatrocular
yetiştirmiş, ülkemizin ilk üniversite tiyatrosunun hikayesini ve Türkiye
üzerindeki etkilerini anlatmaktadır. Yapımı üç yıl süren belgeselde; Haldun
Dormen, Genco Erkal, İzzet Günay, Zihni Göktay, Nevra Serezli, Yılmaz Gruda, Ali
Özgentürk, Erol Keskin, Suna Keskin, Tan Oral, Aydın Engin, Can Kolukısa, Prof.
Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen gibi 40 değerli isimle röportajlar yapılarak, daha önce
hiç yayınlanmamış fotoğraflar kullanıldı. Bugün çok az kişinin bildiği bu amatör
tiyatro; ürettiği eserler, imza attığı ilklerle Türk tiyatro tarihi içerisinde
çok önemli bir yere sahiptir.
The documentary reveals the story of Turkey's first university theatre and its
influential role on the country known by few people today - 'The YouTheatre'. It
marks the genesis of contemporary social theatre in Turkey that acted as a hub
for artists to bloom, featuring a key impact in the history of Turkish theatre
wiits plays and pristine achievements of success and opening the doors to
international areas for Turkish theatres. Production of the documentary took 3
years and 40 major names have been interviewed. Previously unpublished many
photographs of the period are within the coverage of the movie.
