Ezidilerin maruz kaldığı katliamların sonuncusu olan Sincar (Şengal)
katliamını konu alan belgesel, İD vahşetinin boyutlarını tüm dünyaya gözler
önüne seriyor. Yolculuk filmi, Ezidilerin maruz kaldığı katliamın
boyutlarını taksi şoförü Gameel Cheto'nun yaşadıkları üzerinden gözler önüne
seriyor. Kızların kaçırılmaları, pazarlarda seks kölesi olarak satılmaları,
ailelerin tepkileri ve durumun dini sonuçları da filmin temaları arasında
yer alıyor. Özellikle 'kirletilmiş' ya da 'utandırılmış' olan bu kadınlar,
ataerkil yapıya sahip bir topluma yeniden entegre olmakta ve uyum sağlamakta
çok zorlanıyorlar.
A documentary is about the the Sinjar (Shengal) massacre which is the latest
of the bloodbaths the Ezidis have had to endure, exposing the extent of IS
savagery to the rest of the world. The road trip film reveals the extend of
the massacre the Ezidis had to endure through the experiences of the cab
driver Gameel Cheto. The themes include the kidnappings of the girls, their
being sold as sex slaves in markets and the reactions of the families, as
well as the religious implications of the situation. Especially as being 'dirtied'
or 'shamed', these women have a very challenging time reintegrating and
adapting back into a society with a patriarchal structure.
