The government sends people a magical chest when they lose their relatives. By
opening this chest, relatives spin a digital wheel of the dates the deceased
person lived. They are teleported to the given date and spend one last day there
with their relatives.
Derin lost her grandmother Remziye. While going through the stuff left from her
grandmother, she finds a lot of unsent letters. When she reads the letters, she
realizes that her grandmother fell in love with another boy when she was a child
and that they never met again, but that her grandmother constantly still wrote
letters to him, but could not send them. Derin, who travels back in time with
the incoming chest and spends a day with her grandmother's 10-year-old self,
tries to find the child's name. Her purpose is to return and send the letters.
Director Statement
'The Letters' short film is one of my final projects. It is a story that will
take you on a heart warming adventure.
