After crossing the English channel illegally with his family, asylum seeker
Abdel Hassan is brought to an interrogation room to be interviewed by case
worker Oliver. Abdel is given the tragic news that his wife and sons drowned
when their boat capsized during the crossing. He wishes to see them, but Oliver
won’t let him until he’s answered a few questions. After complying, Abdel is
informed that he will be charged for the deaths of his family as the Home Office
wishes to make an example of him and deter others from attempting such a risk.
He is then returned to his cell to await trial.
