Deniz is a sculpture student and his mother has passed away. He starts collecting empty shell casings after he finds them on the street after a shooting. One day, he melts the empty casings in his
workshop and takes the metal flower he made to the grave of his mother who was killed by a gunshot. Deniz is better now.
Bireysel silahlanma günümüz toplumunun en önemli sorunlarından birisi olarak her gün daha fazla canın yitip gitmesine neden olmaktadır. Kadın cinayetlerinin nedenlerinden olan bireysel silahlanmanın
bir an önce önüne geçilmesi gerekmektedir. Kolaylıkla edinilen bu silahların hedefi olacak potansiyele sahip oldukça geniş bir toplumsal kesim bulunmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında bireysel silahlanmanın
bir sonucu olarak silahın kendisine doğrultulması tehlikesi altında olan başta kadınlar olmak üzere herkesin olumlu fayda sağlayacağı farkındalık hedeflenmektedir. Bireysel silahlanmanın olumsuz
sonuçları üzerinden önemli bir sorun ve tehlike olduğunun farkındalığı; en güçlü kitle iletişim araçlarından birisi sayılan sinemanın kısa ama etkili alt dalı olan kısa film yapımı üzerinden
arttırılmak istenmektedir.
Bireysel silahlanmanın yok ettiği hayatlar, parçaladığı aileler ve yalnızlaştırdığı bireylerin hikayelerinin toplumsal etki yaratabilmesi açısından görünür olması önemlidir. Çekimi yapılacak kısa
filmin hikayesinde yer alan ana karakterin ailesini parçalayan ve kendisi yalnızlaştıran neden yine kolay edinilmiş silahtan çıkan kurşundur. Etkili bir hikaye anlatımıyla aktarılacak mesaj bireysel
silahlanmanın önüne geçilmezse yaşanacak ölümlerin sonunun gelmeyeceğidir. Bu mesaj temelinde filmin ana karakterinin kendisinden koparılan annesinin öldürülmesine ve yaşadığı eksikliğe olan tepkisini
sanatla vermesi filmin izleyicisinde oldukça etkili olacaktır. Bu etki üzerinden konuya olan toplumsal hassasiyetin artması amaca uygun bir geri bildirim olacaktır. Yaratılmak istenen farkındalık ve
sonrasında oluşması beklenen toplumsal tepkinin yapıcı sonuçları ancak bu şekilde alınabilir.
Individual armament is one of the most pressing issues in today's society, causing an increasing number of lives to be lost daily. As one of the underlying causes of femicides, the prevalence of
personal firearms must be curtailed urgently. The ease of access to such weapons poses a threat to a broad segment of society. This study aims to raise awareness about the dangers of individual
armament, highlighting how women, as well as others, stand to benefit positively from addressing this issue.
The awareness of individual armament as a critical problem and danger is sought to be enhanced through short film production—a concise yet impactful medium of cinema, regarded as one of the most
potent mass communication tools. The short film will shed light on the lives destroyed by firearms, the families torn apart, and the individuals left isolated, emphasizing the importance of making
these stories visible for their societal impact.
The narrative of the planned short film will feature a main character whose family is shattered, and who becomes isolated, due to a bullet fired from a readily accessible gun. Through an effective
storytelling approach, the message will underline that unless individual armament is curbed, deaths will continue unabated.
Central to the film’s message is the character’s emotional response to the murder of their mother, who was taken from them due to gun violence. Their artistic expression of this loss is expected to
leave a profound impact on the audience. This impact aims to increase public sensitivity to the issue, which, in turn, would serve as meaningful feedback aligned with the film's objectives.
The constructive outcomes of the intended awareness and subsequent societal response can only be achieved through such efforts.
