2015 yılında Suriye'deki savaştan kaçan Aylan Bebek'in kıyıya vurmasının
ardından aile Güllük'e yerleşir. Küçük kızları Zara'yı babası Güllük'te bir
okula kaydeder. Zara, kardeşi Aylan'ın ölümünden sonra, dünyaya küser. Okula bez
bebeği ile konuşup geziyordur. Akmar adında bir kız merakla Zara'yı takip
ediyordur. Yaşamını değiştirmek için bir gün onunla tanışmaya karar verir.
After Baby Aylan came ashore while escaping from the war in Syria in 2015, his
family settles in Güllük. The father enrolls their little doughter Zara in a
school in Güllük. Zara offends by the world after her brother Aylan's death. She
wanders at school talking to her rag doll. A girl named Akmar, follows Zara
curiousuly. One day Akmar decides to meet Zara to change Zara's life.
I decided to make a short film, based on the story I wrote in the same year in
memory of Aylan Bebek, who drowned in Bodrum-Akyarlar while she was escaping
from the civil war in Syria with her family on a fiber boat, on September 2,
2015 and included it in my book,The Story Washed Ashore. In the film, I aimed to
direct the audience to visual and bodily messages and symbols, verbal images
rather than dialogues, and to show the visible side of iceberg and explore its
invisible side with the richness of philosophical dreams.
