Hayatını sürdürebilmek için ticari projelerle uğraşmak zorunda olan Çukurovalı
genç yönetmen Güney, toplumsal sorunları işleyen filmler çekmeye tutkuludur.
Çektiği film nedeniyle gözaltına alınan Güney, ailesi ve çevresi tarafından
dışlanır ve hayal ettiği yeni filmini çekmek için mücadele eder.
Güney, a young director from Çukurova (Cilicia, Turkey) who has to work on
commercial projects to make a living, is passionate about making films that
address social issues. Detained for a film he made, Güney is shunned by his
family and friends and struggles to create the new film he dreams of.
My motivation for making my short film “My Dreams and My Struggle” stems from my
desire to tell the story of each individual's struggle to achieve their dreams.
I believe that everyone has different dreams and in this film, I especially
wanted to convey to the audience the efforts and inner struggles of individuals
to realize their dreams. In professional life, we share a large part of the day
with people we may never meet at work and in social life. This can have a
negative impact on the mind. In the movie, I wanted to tell the story of a man
who is unhappy with his job and his efforts to make a political movie, while at
the same time addressing the restriction of freedom of art in our country. It
saddens me deeply that censorship still exists in 2024.
