Film by SVA Student Hasan Can Dagli to Screen at Cannes
A film written and directed by current student Hasan Can Dagli (MPS Live Action Short Film Department) as his thesis
project has been picked as an Official Selection in the Cannes Court Métrage, or Short Film Corner, at the 2012 Cannes
Film Festival, May 16 - 27. Dagli’s film Everyday follows a man obsessed with finding a woman to photograph in the
streets of New York City. The six-minute short was inspired by silent films and is a critical commentary on the current
state of relationships. Dagli said the main character was inspired by Buster Keaton, the highly acclaimed actor and
filmmaker best known for his silent films in the first half of the 1900s.
The Short Film Corner is an annual event organized by the Festival de Cannes that includes screenings, workshops, meet-and-greets
and conferences for filmmakers and industry representatives. For more information or a full list of the films included
