David works in a care home/hostel for older people. It’s the beginning of his
first shift. He does a “life and death” check on each resident and starts this
by going to visit every room and knocking on their door. This is a regular
follow up and check every morning of the older people in the hostel. All Staff
members start their first shift by doing the routine life and death check at the
hostel. Any resident who has passed away is removed from the room as quickly as
possible so any vacancy can quickly be filled by a new resident.
