Köyde zor bir çocukluk geçirerek büyümüş Zehra, kuzeni tarafından İstanbul'a
okumak için getirilir. Kuzeninin arkadaşı Sevilay ile aynı evi paylaşmaya
başlayan Zehra, evdeki garipliklerden ve gelen gidenlerden şüphelenmeye başlar.
Having grown up enduring a difficult childhood in the village, Zehra is brought
to Istanbul by her cousin to pursue her education. As she begins sharing the
apartment with her cousin's friend, Sevilay, Zehra becomes suspicious of the odd
occurrences and the frequent comings and goings.
One day, while scrolling through social media, I stumbled upon an interview with
a sex worker. Her experiences and her unwavering resilience profoundly moved me.
This moment sparked a deep dive into the lives of other women in Turkey who
share the same fate. The truths I uncovered hit me like a slap in the face -
nothing had changed in the last 100 years. This merciless cycle continues,
pulling people into its grip. I felt the pain of women forced into prostitution
for their bosses' whims deep in my heart, on behalf of all women. Despite being
bound by different chains, I realized that we are all the same. Driven by this
understanding, I met with sex workers across my country, delved into feminist
literature, and witnessed how these women held onto their lives solely with
their own strength. My sole purpose in making this film is to shed light on how
these marginalized and isolated women are forced to become a part of this world.
I aim to be their voice and to tear through the veil of invisibility, bringing
the harsh realities to light.
