Yıl 2070... Dünyada su bitmiş, bitki örtüsü yok olmuştur. İnsanlar su ve gıda
ihtiyaçlarını devlet tarafından karne ile limitli şekilde temin edilen haplarla
karşılamaktadırlar. Bu yokluk kendi hap haklarını para karşılığı başkalarına
satarak illegal işler yapan şebekelerin oluşmasını sağlamıştır. Televizyonda
2000’ li yılların dünyasını anlatan, o zamanlarda dünyada var olan suyun nasıl
da hiç bitmeyecekmişcesine tüketildiğini gösteren bir belgesel izleyen iki çocuk
sadece bir tek yerde kalmış ve bazı deneyler için kullanılan su birikintisine
gitmeyi kafalarına koyarlar. Bir gece annelerinden gizlice bu gölün bulunduğu
bölgeye giderler. Nöbet tutan askerlerin bir anlık dikkatsizliği sayesinde suyun
yanına ulaşmayı başarırlar. Ufak çocuk bir kere olsun suya dokunmak ve
belgeselde gördüğü insanlar gibi tadına bakmak için önüne geçilmez bir arzu
duymaktadır. Önce suya dokunur, sonra avucuna doldurduğu suyu ağzına götürür.
Ancak insanoğlu artık suyu yutamayacak şekilde evrimleşmiştir. İnsana hayat
veren su bu kez hayat almak üzeredir. Boğulmakta olan çocuk abisinin çantasından
çıkardığı su hapını kardeşinin ağzına tıkması sonucunda kurtulur.
Year 2070... The world has run out of water and vegetation has disappeared.
People meet their water and food needs with a limited number of pills provided
by the state through ration cards. This absence has led to the formation of
networks that engage in illegal activities by selling their pills to others with
money. Two children, who watched a documentary on television about the world of
the 2000s and how the water in the world at that time was consumed as if it
would never end, decided to go to the puddle that was left in only one place and
was used for some experiments. One night, they run away from home and go to the
area where this puddle is located, secretly from their mother. By the
inattention of the soldiers on duty, they manage to reach the water. The little
boy has an irresistible desire to touch the water once and taste it like the
people he saw in the documentary. First he touches the water, then he puts the
water in his palm to his mouth. However, human beings have evolved in such a way
that they can no longer swallow water. This time, the water that gives life to
human is about to take life. The drowning child is saved by his brother taking a
water pill from his bag and stuffing it into his brother’s mouth.
It is of great importance to me to make such a film in these days while we are
recklessly destroying the world's resources. Of course, the climate crisis is a
fact that we cannot ignore. While scientists are trying to find a solution to
this problem, I wonder why we are consuming water as if it will never end. In
this film, I tried to look and make others look at the potential water and,
consequently, food crisis in the future from a different perspective. Yes, it
may be utopian, but why not?
