Director Statement
Since I was very little I always wanted to escape from reality and throughout my childhood I tried to discover various ways to accomplish that. It always felt like dreaming and imagining was opening
this secret door to a world that was freer and more joyful. In the beginning, spending time in that world was satisfying enough but then I realized that I wanted to bring that feeling of freedom into
real life because I realized that the idea of expanding that free world into the physical world was the real challenge.
Reflecting different feelings and ideas onto paper in various colors with different shapes and seeing the visualization of my imagination was like a meditation for me. I first picked up a brush when I
was four years old and never dropped it again. Sometimes the creative process was tough and challenging, but seeing that visualization of imagination was and still is incredibly beautiful. On the
other hand, my journey with music started when my parents took me to a piano lesson when I was six years old. At that time I did not know how important music and its role in my life were going to be
but I just really enjoyed creating sounds and controlling them with my fingers. Over time the type of music I listened to and played changed but that excitement in me never got smaller but only grew
more. Music and painting were the first two passions in my life that helped me to bring the free world of dreams and imagination into physical life but after experiencing the magic of the combination
as films, my whole world became that world inside my imagination.
Watching and seeing people express themselves in such a unique way felt just too magical and I just wanted to be a part of it. So I started making films and started to transfer my feelings and
emotions into stories then onto the screen. By making my own films, I realized that I am expressing my feelings and reflecting my mind in a way that is so unique not only because it was a combination
of art and music but making movies itself felt personal, something that truly belonged to only myself and that is why I am in love with it.
