Anıl, gönülsüzce babası Faysal’ın finans şirketinde çalışmaktadır. Faysal,
oğlunun kusursuz bir iş insanı olmasını ister ancak arzuladığı çalışma
disiplinini oğlunda göremediği için onu eleştirir. Oysa Anıl’ın özünde müzik ve
dans tutkusu vardır. Yaşam felsefeleri ve tutkularıyla iki farklı dünyadır baba
ve oğul. Şirketin geleceği için oldukça önemli olan toplantının gerçekleşeceği
günde, Faysal’ın gözde çalışanı Cemal, o gün yaşanılan gerginlikten faydalanarak
Anıl’ın yerine geçmek için sinsice kuyusunu kazmaktadır. Toplantı öncesinde üçlü
arasında ipler gerilir. Toplantıdan önce ofis dışına çıkan Anıl, ilginç bir
adamla karşılaşması sonucu beklemediği bir yüzleşme yaşar. Bu yüzleşme Anıl’ın
kendini dışarıdan görmesine sebep olmuştur. Anıl ofise döndüğünde var olan
düzene ait olmadığını anlamıştır.
Anıl reluctantly agrees to work for his father Faysal's finance department.
Faisal wants his son to be a perfect business person, but criticizes him for not
seeing the work discipline he desires in his son. However, Anıl has a passion
for music and dance at his core. Father and son are two different worlds with
their life philosophies and passions. Anıl’s unique personality is constantly
criticized by his father, so he is forced to hide his dreams and his true
identity. On the day of the important meeting that plays a critical role for the
future of the company. Cemal, Faysal's employee, is secretly digging Anıl’s well
to take his place. taking advantage of the tension experienced that day. Anıl,
who goes outside of the office before the meeting, comes across an unexpected
man and encounters a reflection about his true feelings. This triggering
experience causes Anıl to see himself from the outside. When Anıl returns to the
office, he realizes that he does not belong to the existing order. Anıl has to
make a decision between ending his inner war by pursuing his dreams or
continuing in the office life that suffocates him.
Director Statement
If we live our lives thinking ”what will people say", we will lived the lives of
others. Our soul will take us to the place where we really belong. My soul has
taught me that I should listen to the voice of my heart. I wrote the character
Anıl with the voice of my heart. In the film, Anıl's fight is actually with
himself, not with someone else. If only he makes peace with himself, he can
overcome all obstacles. As I wrote, I felt liberated together with Anıl as he
danced. When I started holding my own hand tightly, I realized that my
differences are not shortcomings or flaws, but what makes me special. I have
learned that I have to give the real approval to myself and that I have to look
for some things not outside, but inside myself.
No matter where we are in the world, people will always have something to say
about our lives. If you don't fit in, if you are different, if you are missing
out on stuff or if you are too much, they will tell you that you are “lunatic”
at first. I think it would be crazy to live according to the imposed patterns.
So I believe in expressing my self freely.
When I first started planting the seeds of my script, I asked people, “What do
you think madness is?" I asked and received dozens of answers that were not
similar to each other. Because ”madness" was personal, it represented something
different for everyone.
But insanity had to have something to do with freedom...
Our madness becomes our freedom. Our originality adds color to life and art. On
the one hand, perhaps the best answer to life is to go crazy. Madness is
inevitable at this time, so maybe it's just necessary to dance. I think all the
artists I love are crazy, and my biggest admiration for them is that they can
reflect their differences in the work art uniquely. Everyone’s insane, but in a
different way. So I believe that insanity is uniquely a passionate way of
expression.
