A glimpse into three different döner buffets in Berlin and how they are
connected to the city with their own style.
In this short documentary, I wanted to explore how something as simple as a
döner kebab can tell us the colorful multicultural part of Berlin—its diversity,
its complexity, and its sense of shared identity. Döner is a food born from
migration, and over the years, it has become deeply woven into the fabric of
Berlin’s everyday life. Through the stories of three different döner places, I
wanted to highlight how these small, local businesses are bridges between
communities. In a city that thrives on multiculturalism, döner is a symbol of
the rich, colorful lives that come together here. This film is my attempt to
capture a snapshot of Berlin in 2024, where food brings different people
together in unexpected ways.
