“From Darkness to Daylight” is a documentary that focuses on the life of Mehmet Ali Macit, who produces hemp using traditional methods in the Sulu Cave located in the Şehraküstü neighborhood of the Şahinbey district in Gaziantep.

The film brings to the screen the labor, patience, and craftsmanship that emerge from the dark, humid caves into the daylight, following a master who has carried this craft with decades of experience.
Despite advancing technology, Master Mehmet Ali keeps cultural heritage alive through the hemp he produces with old techniques, sharing both the challenges and the beauty of his work with the audience.
