The ancient city of Oinoanda, close to Fethiye, held probably the largest
philosophical inscription of the Ancient World. The inscription, measuring 65-80
metres long, was carved by Diogenes of Oinoanda to convey the Epicurean
philosophy to future generations and the city’s visitors… As senior researcher
Martin Ferguson Smith puts it, the content of the inscription is surprisingly
relevant to the problems of contemporary society.
Nazım Güveloğlu (Adana, 1975) earned a postgraduate degree in political science
and public administration at the Middle East Technical University and a
doctorate degree in political science at the University of Frankfurt.
