Tarihi Çuhacı Han’da çoğunluğu Ermeni olan kuyumcu ustaları yüzyıllardır
çıraklık sitemi içerisinde yerleşmişlerdir. Giderek azalsa da bugün de devam
eden bu sistem, sadece han sınırlarında geçerli mesleki bir eğitimin ötesinde
nesilden nesle aktarılan değerli bir töz içerir. Filme konu olan usta, Kalfa ve
çıraklar aktarılması zor olan bu cevheri kendi bakış açılarıyla anlatmaya
çalışıyorlar.
The jewelry craftsmanship masters majority of which are Armenians have been
raised under the apprenticeship system for centuries in historical Çuhacı Han,
Istanbul. Although this apprenticeship system is gradually dying, it survives to
our day and has a precious essence that is beyond a Çuhacı Han specific jewelry
making know how. The masters, the assistants and the apprentices interviewed in
the film attempt to describe this hard to describe essence from their own
perspectives.
