Tracing the tradition of wooden architecture that stretches from the countryside
to the city center in Kastamonu, *The Allure of Wood* brings to light the
cultural heritage embodied by wood across a vast region—from mansions to village
houses and the gümele structures in the Tosya vineyards. Here, wood is not
merely a building material; it is a memory, craftsmanship, and wisdom passed
down from generation to generation. The documentary emphasizes that designation
alone is not enough for preservation; for a structure to survive, life must
continue within it, while drawing attention to the rapid disappearance of
abandoned spaces. It centers on the question “How will we preserve it?” by
addressing issues such as restoration costs, a shortage of skilled craftsmen,
