Ahmet Gül 114 yıldır süregelen bir geleneğin son bekçisidir. Süreç “Cideli
Ahmet” ile başladı, “Ahmet Gül” ile son bulacaktır. Yaşadığı izole alanda, deniz
feneriyle olan ilişkisi günden güne değişmekte ve farklılaşmaktadır. Deniz
Feneri, bilgisayar teknolojisinin gelişmesiyle birlikte işlevini kaybetmeye
başlamıştır. Bununla birlikte Ahmet Gül de büyük bir işlevsizleşme sürecinin
içine girmiştir. Ahmet Gül, nesilden nesile geçen bu mesleği oğluna bırakmayı
amaçlasa da istediğini yerine getiremeyecektir çünkü oğlu otizm hastasıdır ve bu
mesleği devam ettiremeyecektir. Bu durum bekçide bedensel ve ruhsal birçok
değişime sebebiyet vermiştir. Belgesel, deniz feneri bekçisi Ahmet Gül’ün
zamanla işlevini kaybetmesini, oğlu ile ilgili yaşadığı sorunlarını deniz feneri
bekçiliği ve bekçilik yaptığı “Yelkenkaya Deniz Feneri” üzerinden anlatır.
Ahmet Gul is the last guard of a tradition that has been going on for 114 years.
The process started with “Cideli Ahmet” and will end with “Ahmet Gul”. In the
isolated area where he lives, his relationship with the lighthouse changes day
by day. Lighthouse started to lose its function because of the development of
computer science (or technological development). Correspondingly, Ahmet Gul also
started to lose his duty. Even though Ahmet Gul aims to sustain and deliver his
profession to his son as a family tradion, he is not able to fulfill his wish
because his son is autistic and cannot continue this profession. This situation
caused many physical and mental changes on Ahmet Gul. The documentary tells loss
of duty over time of the lighthouse keeper Ahmet Gul, and problems he faced with
his son.
