Festina Lente, meaning “make haste slowly,” is literally an oxymoron; the contradictory combination of speed and slowness perfectly captures the spirit of the film. At the festival, we take our time to savour art and artists, yet a little haste is needed to experience it!

This Japan–Italy–Turkey co-production mesmerizes not only with visuals but also with a journey of thought and emotion. Guided by Roy Yu, the film travels from Florence to Istanbul, London to Palermo, revealing the delicate balance between time, beauty, and life. The film has received international recognition, winning Best Documentary at the Tokyo International Art Film Festival and the Special Jury Prize at the European Art Film Festival. The director’s narrative—uniting art and culture—has been praised by critics and audiences alike.

Festina Lente doesn’t just show art; it makes you feel it. The film reminds us that sometimes slowing down, living the moment, and savoring beauty is the most valuable experience, even in today’s rush of modern life.
