IGU International Media and Short Film Festival 2026 is organized by the
Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Department of New Media and
Communication within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social
Sciences at Istanbul Gelisim University.
The festival aims to bring together emerging filmmakers, digital content
creators, academics and media professionals while encouraging innovative
storytelling and creative expression. It provides a platform where traditional
cinema meets new media technologies and contemporary forms of audiovisual
production.
The festival welcomes submissions in five competition categories: Fiction,
Documentary, Experimental, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Content.
We invite filmmakers and content creators from around the world to share their
vision, exchange ideas, and become part of an international celebration of
cinema, media, and creativity.
Festival Dates: October 22–23, 2026
Submission Deadline: August 30, 2026
Rules & Terms
Eligibility
• The festival is open to national and international filmmakers.
• Submissions are accepted in the following categories: Fiction, Documentary,
Experimental, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Content.
Submission
• All entries must be submitted through FilmFreeway.
• Films must include English subtitles if the original language is not English.
Selection
• An independent selection committee and jury appointed by the festival will
evaluate all submissions.
• The jury's decisions are final.
Rights
• By submitting a film, the entrant confirms that they hold all necessary rights
to the submitted work.
• Copyright remains with the filmmaker.
General
• Submission of a film constitutes acceptance of all festival rules and
regulations.
• The festival reserves the right to make changes when necessary.

118 ülkeden 2.600’den fazla film, ön jürimiz tarafından titizlikle
değerlendirilmeye başlandı.
