Vedat Sarıtaş

Vedat Sarıtaş is a young filmmaker currently studying in the Department of Cinema and Television at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University. He works as both a writer and director of short films. During his high school years in Van, he received theater training and performed in various stage productions.

In 2020, Sarıtaş moved to Istanbul, where he studied film design, directing, and on-camera acting at Başkent Communication Academy. He later continued his theater education at the Silivri Academy of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nişantaşı University.

Since beginning his cinema studies in 2023, he has taken part in numerous short film projects as an actor, art director, and cinematographer. In 2024, inspired by Children of Heaven, he directed his first short film, Merhamet.

In 2026, he wrote and directed his second short film, İnci. In his films, Sarıtaş explores themes such as loneliness, poverty, sibling bonds, and the inner struggles of human beings through a simple yet powerful cinematic language. Minimalism and emotional intensity are the core elements of his visual storytelling.

His second short film, İnci, tells the story of two siblings struggling to survive under harsh living conditions. With this film, Sarıtaş aims to offer the audience a quiet yet deeply emotional experience. He aspires to present his work at national and international film festivals in the future.
