Women with Purple Violets is a documentary about a group of women fans who since
1967 have been passionately devoted to a small soccer team in Anatolia. The
group of women, who supported Orduspor in the 1970s, get together for a last
game 40 years later, just as their team is about to drop down to the amateur
league and the Orduspor stadium is about to be torn down. Through their coming
together once more, we witness the transformation of soccer through the years,
the changes in the women’s lives and the impact of the political climate in
Turkey on the fans.
