CHILDREN OF GALLIPOLI
Director/Producer: Anna Cottrell
Associate Producer/DP: Tufan Turanli
For: New Zealand National Television

Children of Gallipoli is about four descendants of 1915 Gallipoli War veterans: 2 New Zealanders and 2 Turks. The goal of the producer is to reflect the interaction among the descendants, especially between the Turks and the New Zealanders. We have already shot the preliminary scenes of the Turks, their families and the stories of their great grand fathers. The second stage will continue in March 2002 when the New Zealanders visit Turkey.
THE SHIPWRECKS OF ANATOLIA
Project in development

I have started this project in 2000 and believe it will take until 2005. The goal of the project is to record more than 200 ancient shipwrecks discovered in Turkish waters. Majority of these ships are older than 1000 years and mostly covered by sand. I hope to record, by images and video, all the shipwrecks discovered and produce both an extensive visual database.
HIDDEN TOMB OF ANTIOCHUS
Producer: Laura Verklan
DP/Cameraman in Turkey: Tufan Turanli
For: History Channel, USA

This is the story of King Antiochus I and his stunning mausoleum on top of Mount Nemrut. The program was shot in September of 2000 and had initial broadcasting in 2001 spring. The program was produced by Digital Ranch of California for History Channel of Arts and Entertainment.
THE SEARCH FOR THE NOAH'S ARK
Producer: Tod Mesirow
DP/Cameraman in Turkey: Tufan Turanli
For: History Channel, USA

Noah's Ark, and its whereabouts is probably the planets biggest controversy. The Search for the Noah's Ark, shot in October of 2000, simply searched for answers to this puzzle. We traveled from one end of Turkey to the other, climbed Mount Ararat, visited deserted villages... Did we find the answers? Turn on the History Channel and decide for yourself!
ANCIENT CITY FOUND AND LOST
Producer: Tod Mesirow
DP/Cameraman in Turkey: Tufan Turanli
For: History Channel, USA

Zeugma, an ancient Roman city, with spectacular villas and stunning mosaics was flooded by the rising waters trapped by the recent dam built nearby. Archeologists and conservators worked frantically  around the clock, racing against time and the rising waters to protect this vast historical treasure. Ancient City Found and Lost is the story of Zeugma. Tod and I had great fun doing the project. To best bring the story to the viewers, we even dove to the murky waters of the lake to record the submerged remains of the city. It was very dark and muddy; in short, very eerie!
FOCUS TV REPORTS
Producer: Ute von der Lieth
DP: Johannes Hormann
Underwater Cameraman: Tufan Turanli
For: Focus Television, Germany

While I was doing the 1998 Underwater Survey,  based on a Focus Magazine article, Focus TV decided to do a segment about my work. Focus TV can be compared to National Geographic Television of USA. Johannes also shot some of the underwater but I provided especially footage of previous shipwrecks.
THE TREASURES OF TURKEY
Producer: Keiichiro Kondo
5 x 90 minutes of High-Definition Programs
For: NHK, Japanese National Television. 1997

I had not shot and worked in HD format before, and it was incredible; I could not believe my eyes when I saw the images on the monitor. They were simply stunning. It was a very demanding one month of shooting. I did the underwater parts of the program.
Ephesus Turkey ANCIENT MYSTERIES
The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus parts.
Producer: Laura Aka
Director/DP/Cameraman in Turkey: Tufan Turanli
For: Arts and Entertainment Channel, USA.1997

The shooting of this project took place at Ephesus and Bodrum. The project had a tight schedule and the producer, Laura Aka, did not have time to come over. We communicated with email and phone and I wrapped the shooting in six days and shipped the tapes. A true example of a rush project.
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC NEWS-update on Uluburun
Producer: Tim Kelly
Cameraman in Turkey: Tufan Turanli
For : National Geographic TV, 1994

3300 years old Uluburun Shipwreck is the oldest wreck ever excavated. A documentary produced by Jack Kelley in 1986 was a big success that was broadcasted in National Geographic TV. NG wanted to do a short follow-up on the project and I shot the footage showing the work in the labs of Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

For: TRT, Turkish Radio and Television, 1990

Uluburun Shipwreck Excavation took 11 years and more than 20,000 dives to finish. The project is known to be one of 20. centuries ten most important archaeological projects.  I wanted to reflect the excavation, the team and their excitement about this fascinating excavation.
