Hakan Barçın Hakan Barçın, born in İzmir, is a graduate of İzmir Atatürk High School and the Department of American Language and Literature at Hacettepe University. He is a politician and environmental activist. As a member of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Barçın served as a council member for both Foça Municipality and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality from 2019 to 2024. Additionally, he was a mayoral candidate for Foça in the 2024 local elections. Barçın advocates for an environmentally friendly and participatory approach to municipal governance, focusing on preserving Foça's natural and cultural heritage, supporting local production, and developing policies sensitive to the climate crisis. Hakan Barçın produced the documentary "A Foça Legend: Nihat Dirim" to honor the memory of Nihat Dirim and to convey his approach to municipal governance to future generations. After moving to Foça in 1999, Barçın developed a close friendship with Dirim, collaborating on numerous projects. Following Dirim's passing in 2022, Barçın felt a significant void and saw the documentary as a means to commemorate his legacy and document his exemplary approach to municipal governance. The production of the documentary spanned approximately 15 months, during which nearly 40 interviews were conducted and extensive archival research was undertaken. Barçın describes the project not merely as a biography but as an oral history initiative that sheds light on Foça's recent past.Yönetmenliğini Yaptığı Belgesel Filmler
