Gizem Avcıoğlu

Yurtdışında Vikki Bardot ismiyle tanınan Gizem Avcıoğlu, dijital resim ve video sanatı ile yapay zekayı birleştiren çok yönlü bir sanatçı. 9 Eylül Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuvarındaki flüt eğitiminden sonra İstanbul Türvak’ta sinema yönetmenliği bölümünden birincilikle mezun oldu. Kariyerinde film alımları konusunda uzmanlaşan Avcıoğlu, yıllarca Cannes, Berlin, Toronto gibi sektörün önde gelen film festivallerine katıldı ve 200’ün üzerinde, pek çoğu ödüllü filmin sinema dağıtımında rol aldı. 2019’da ilgi alanları yeni teknolojilere kayan Avcıoğlu, dağıtım alanındaki kariyerini bırakarak 2022 itibariyle sanat çalışmalarına ağırlık verdi. Yapay zeka ile post-fotoğraf alanında yapılan öncü koleksiyonlardan bazılarına imza attı ve kısa sürede öncü isimlerden biri haline geldi. 2023 itibariyle kısa filmler, yeni medya ve post-sinemasal hikaye anlatım teknikleri üzerine odaklanmaya başladı. Yapay zeka ve sanat üzerine ilk TEDx konuşmalarından birini gerçekleştirdi. Eserleri, New York, Roma, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Seul, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Miami, Dubai, Liverpool, Talin ve Barcelona gibi dünyanın pek çok şehrinde sergilenmiştir.

Previously a film industry professional, a musician, and a painter, Gizem Avcıoğlu also known as Vikki Bardot is a multi-faceted AI artist. She spent her teenage years at the conservatory, studying flute and classical music history. There, she also developed a keen eye for cinema, painting, photography, sculpture, and video art, setting her on a diverse creative journey. After graduating from conservatory she completed film school as the top student. She directed short films while she was a student. As of 2006 she worked in film distribution, acquiring award-winning indie films and attending top film festivals worldwide like Cannes, Berlin, Toronto for many years. In 2019 her interests shifted to new technologies and new ways of storytelling. In 2022, she quit her role in acquisitions in film industry and became an independent artist. Vikki is working with AI tools and obsessed with the emergence of AI art. In 2022 she released some of the first examples of post-photographic AI collections. In her first year, she had a phenomenonal success and has become one of the all time Top 10 selling artists on digital art platform Foundation. Her style is often influenced by the aesthetics of early photography and avant-garde cinematic movements. She’s been praised for her unique visual signature, experimenting with textures and color stylizations. In 2023 she is focused on post-cinematic AI video art, new media and short films. Vikki’s work has been exhibited in cities across the globe, including New York, Rome, Paris, Seul, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Miami, Tallin, Dubai, Liverpool and Barcelona. She has recently gave a TEDx talk on AI and art. She’s currently working on her debut long feature film that is fully created with AI.
