"Love is Revolution" presents sections from the social lives of four young women
and draws attention to the similarities and differences of their feelings as
well as the opinions heard in the interviews with them. We witness how
independent a basic feeling can be within the social structure of Turkey,
through the memories, feelings and thoughts of different young women.
The concept of love becomes specific under the influence of a person's social
identity. In this sense, it is important to evaluate love through women from
different segments of society. The reason for this is the position of women in
the society we live in. As a result of the patriarchal mindset in society and
the presence of women raised in different cultural environments, the majority of
women interpret love in different ways. To question this issue, we asked four
different young women questions about love and followed a day in their social
life. We made sure that the four women we chose were from different social
circles and had different personality traits. We wanted to follow women on a
daily basis and see how they are in their social environments and their position
in society. While trying to analyze this feeling by asking questions about love,
we also aimed to question with women how free they are in their thoughts in a
society based on patriarchal thought.
