“Hayır, siz yaptınız.”
In July 1937, Pablo Picasso’s Guernica painting was exhibited for the first time in the Spanish Pavilion. An SS officer from the Nazi Germany’s protection unit also visited this exhibition and was
intrigued by the Guernica painting. He examined the painting for a long time. Suddenly, he felt the presence of someone behind him. The person standing behind him was Picasso. The SS officer asked
Picasso, “Did you make this painting?” Picasso responded with an unexpected answer - “No, you made it.”
