“Motorşehir”, 2008 resesyonunun, ABD’nin otomobil sanayisinin başkenti Detroit
üzerindeki etkilerini anlatan kısa bir multimedya parçası. Detroit kentini ve
otomobil fabrikalarının çevresindeki mahalleleri inceleyen filmde anlatıcı,
müşterilerinin çoğu nu Ford Motor Şirketinin işçilerinin oluşturduğu bir barın
sahibi olan John Gocci.
Motorcity is a short multimedia piece about the effects of the 2008 recession on
Detroit, the capital of American auto industry. It examines the city and the
suburbs surrounding the car factories. The narrator is John Gocci, a bar owner
that owes most of his business to Ford Motor Company workers.
Gianni Cipriano New York ve Palermo’da yaşayan bir foto muhabir. 2007-08’de New
York’taki International Center of Photography’de Belgesel Fotoğrafçılık ve Foto
Muhabirlik Programından mezun oldu ve foto muhabirler Ron Haviv (VII) ve
Christopher Anderson’ın (Magnum Photos) yanında staj yaptı.
The New York Times için serbest fotoğrafçı olarak çalışmaktadır ve uluslararası
düzeyde fotoğrafları yayımlanmıştır. Picture of The Year International, The Ian
Parry Scholarship, The International Photography Awards and American Photography
gibi yarışmalarda multimedya dalında çeşitli ödüller aldı. Halen Getty Images’ın
Reportage’ında “genç yetenekler” arasındadır. 2009 Joop Swart World Press Photo
Masterclass’a aday gösterilmiştir.
Gianni Cipriano is a photojournalist based in New York and Palermo, Italy. He is
a freelance photographer for The New York Times and has been published
internationally. He has won several awards, such as the First Place Multimedia
at the Picture of The Year International, The Ian Parry Scholarship, the
International Photography Awards and American Photography. He is currently among
the ‘Emerging Talents’ of Reportage by Getty Images and has recently been
nominated for the 2009 Joop Swart World Press Photo Masterclass. Gianni Cipriano
graduated in the 2007/08 Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Program at
the International Center of Photography in New York and interned with
photojournalists Ron Haviv (VII) and Christopher Anderson (Magnum Photos).
Yusuf Sayman New York’ta yaşayan, devlet ve birey arasındaki ilişkiye yoğunlaşan
bir foto muhabir. 2008 yılında New York’taki International Center of
Photography’de Belgesel Fotoğrafçılık ve Foto Muhabirlik Programından mezun
oldu. Serbest foto muhabir olarak çalışmaktadır, aynı zamanda Antonin
Kratochvil’in (VII) asistanıdır. Çalışmaları New York’ta, Hollanda’da ve

Yusuf Sayman is a New York based photojournalist concentrating on the
relationship between the state and the individual. In 2008, he finished the
photojournalism and documentary photography program at the International Center
of Photography where he won the John and Annamaria Philips Foundation
Scholarship for Photojournalism. Currently he works as a freelance
photojournalist, also as an assistant for VII photographer Antonin Kratochvil.
His work has exhibited in multiple shows in New York, The Netherlands, and in
the PIngyao photography festival in China.
