Payam, a history student born in Tehran and studying at the University of Exeter,
travels to Dara Ancient City in Mardin for his thesis research. What begins as
an academic study gradually turns into a personal encounter with a site whose
historical significance has long been overlooked.
Following Payam’s research journey, the documentary reflects on Dara’s past
while drawing attention to the fact that most of the ancient city still lies
buried underground. Dara is presented not merely as an archaeological site, but
as a cultural memory waiting to be recognized, protected, and remembered.
