“There is a village far away,” said the poet, and this is such a village. This
is a highland village in the Seben district of Bolu. When the weather gets a
little warmer, everyone runs to their highland homes and stays here for months.
Here they grows, collects and cooks. Everyone knows each other and some of them
are already relatives. This place is like a meeting place at the same time.
Turkish people visit their hometown every summer and return after a few days or
a week of longing. When you come here, you cannot leave. When it gets colder and
rains, then the road appears. Another beauty of this place is the people. The
awareness of cooperation among people has also revived a historical tradition.
In recent years, the tradition we know as Hanging Bread has turned into a
Village Hanger where all kinds of food are shared here. People share everything
with each other, from the vegetables they produce in their gardens, the fish
they catch in the lake, the mushrooms they collect in the rain, and the fresh
fruits. There is no need to go door to door for this. There is a sign on the
railing of the house at the entrance of the village. Everyone leaves their
surplus here, and if there is something they need it, they get it from here.
There is no need for anyone to take permission from anyone else or notify them.
Silent help. Mushrooms here are very famous. After the rain, those who know this
business collect 8-10 kinds of edible mushrooms and share the surplus with their
neighbors. If you go in season, you can taste the most delicious mushrooms of
nature here for days. The weather of this plateau is beautiful, the water is
beautiful, the people are beautiful and happy. Because everyone knows very well
how to share happiness.
